This work would not have been possible without the guidance and support by many people. My undying gratitude goes to my fellow collaborators, who have guided the work. Max Alper, my composition teacher, has been with me for all but the first four months that I worked on the piece. I am thankful for his tutelage, feedback, encouragement, support, and sense of humor, all of which pushed me when I needed to be pushed. Jackie An (violin, vocals) and Raqa Down (synthesizers, percussion, vocals) patiently worked through many revisions of the score, and both of them helped shepherd it into its current form through my confusing handwriting and instructions. Jesse Roth (world premiere direction) helped me achieve clarity on how to achieve maximal audience engagement, how to think about this work more broadly as not just music, but performance, and provided caring and challenging critique.
